LIEUTENANT COLONEL JAMES H. SENA, CAP

Lt Col James H. Sena serves as the Commander for the John J. Montgomery Memorial Cadet Squadron 36. As such, he is responsible to the San Francisco Bay Group 2 Commander for ensuring that Civil Air Patrol's objectives, policies, and operational directives are effectively executed within the squadron.

Lt Col Sena entered the Civil Air Patrol in 1990 as a senior member with the John J. Montgomery Memorial Cadet Squadron 36, California Wing. Throughout his CAP membership, he has specialized in Cadet Programs. Lt Col Sena also has served as a director for a Squadron Leadership Professional Development course and is a graduate of National Staff College.

Lt Col Sena has completed the Advanced Basic Communications Training Course. Lt Col Sena is also a recipient of the Gill Robb Wilson Award, #2470.

From a historical perspective, Lt Col Sena is the longest continuously-serving senior in Squadron 36 and is the only senior member to serve two independent terms as commander for Squadron 36.

He is married to the former Miss Jacoba M-L. Vanderputten of San Jose, California and is the proud father of 29-year old daughter, Johanna, of San Jose, California and 22-year old daughter, Julie, of Salem, Oregon.
